Hi! Your lovely bedroom and my comfortable home are ready for you! My husband (Kepas) and I are really looking forward to meeting you and helping you get the most out of your time in Melbourne. We're here to help you learn English (if needed) and to make sure our home is perfect for you to study in and enjoy.

Our home is clean, tidy, very comfortable and welcoming. Your bedroom will be peaceful and relaxing with everything you need for your stay, whether its long or short. We have a large kitchen, dining, and lounge rooms where you can make yourself at home, or enjoy the privacy of your room if you prefer. Your bathroom is close to your bedroom and will be shared with one or two others, depending on who is staying with us. Kepas and Michelle use a 2nd bathroom and there is heating and air conditioning throughout the house.

The suburb of Balwyn is leafy, safe, full of families and people from all around the world. There is public transport just 3 houses from us which will take you to Swinburne, RMIT, University of Melbourne, Deakin and many other tertiary institutions. The CBD is just 35 minutes away by public transport or 20 minutes by car. A supermarket, cafes and a pharmacy and doctors are a 5 minute walk from us and Balwyn has beautiful parks with walking/cycling trails, along with cinemas, restaurants, gyms and shops.

I love helping students and people who are new to Australia with life skills and learning English. I have worked in this field for years along with my husband, Kepas, who is a secondary teacher. We love people and have four adult children. I am doing (very slowly) a part-time degree, so I know what it's like to be a student in Australia. I also work part-time in a school boarding house supporting students from around Asia and other parts of Australia.

I've lived in six different countries over the years, so I know what it's like to arrive to a new culture and settle in. I even lived for a couple of years in a small town in Mozambique where I ran a jewellery-making project as an aid worker.

We live in Melbourne during the week and then go to the beach, 90 minutes from Melbourne, for the weekends. It's a very special and interesting part of Victoria plus our hammock is ready for you to relax in while you're there! We love walking, playing outside games and swimming there but if you can't swim it's still really safe water that you can enjoy. Staying with us will give you special experiences in both the city and the country.

We love having fun and supporting people. My hobbies are dance, painting and reading. Kepas' hobbies are many!... AFL football, golf, gardening, sailing, writing a novel and small building projects.
